Candida Treatment

^^^ultiple sclerosis (MS) has been associated with Candida infections, which are caused by a species of yeast. The most common type of Candida is Candida albicans. Mild infections with Candida may involve the mouth, which is referred to as thrush, or the vagina, which is referred to as monilia. More significant infections with Candida usually occur in people with conditions that suppress the immune system, such as AIDS and the use of chemotherapy medications. These infections may involve the mouth, throat, eye, heart, and bloodstream.

It has been proposed that many medical conditions are associated with an "overgrowth" of Candida, which is known as Candidiasis hyper-sensitivity, polysystemic candidiasis, or chronic candidiasis syndrome. Candida hypersensitivity has been specifically suggested to be involved in MS. It is claimed that it may occur with MS because of MS-associated immune system abnormalities or the use of steroids, which suppress the immune system. In addition to MS, candidiasis hypersensitivity has been associated with fatigue, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, rheumatoid arthritis, AIDS, breathing problems, and bladder infections. It is claimed that 30 percent of people in United States have candidiasis hypersensitivity. Demonstrating the presence of the organism is apparently not necessary to make the diagnosis. These ideas have been popularized Drs. William Crook and Orion Truss.
